Don’t panic, here we explain how to measure your duvet, pillow and mattress, for a good night’s sleep and avoid unpleasant surprises when making your bed.<\/em><\/p>\n

This new guide completes it by showing you, in a practical way, how to measure your duvet, pillow and mattress correctly. These simple steps will ensure a perfect fit between your bed linen and your bedding.<\/p>\n

How do you measure your duvet and choose the right duvet cover?<\/h3>\n

Before choosing a new duvet cover, it’s essential to know the exact dimensions of your duvet. Good to know<\/strong>: the dimensions of a duvet are always expressed as width x length<\/strong>. The width is measured at the head(s) and the length at the foot(s).<\/p>\n

To measure your duvet correctly:
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Lay it flat on the bed.
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Use a tape measure to measure the width from edge to edge (without pulling).
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Do the same for the length, from top to bottom.<\/p>\n

For example, a duvet measuring 240 x 220 cm<\/strong> is 240 cm wide (head(s) side) and 220 cm long (head to toe).<\/p>\n

Here are the standard duvet measurements:
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 140 x 200 cm<\/strong>: ideal for a single bed or cot.
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 200 x 200 cm<\/strong>: perfect for a standard double bed (140×200).
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 240 x 220 cm<\/strong>: recommended for king-size beds (160×200) or if you like to have more headroom.
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 260 x 240 cm<\/strong>: for large beds (Super King, 180×200 or 200×200) or for a \u201cdrop to the floor\u201d effect.<\/p>\n

If you are tall or move around a lot at night, don’t hesitate to choose a longer or wider duvet for greater comfort.<\/p>\n

How do I measure my pillow?<\/h3>\n

Kalani offers two main standard pillow sizes: square (65×65 cm)<\/strong> and rectangular (50×70 cm)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

To measure:
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Lay your pillow flat without puffing it up too much.
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Measure the width<\/strong> and length<\/strong> at the seam.<\/p>\n

Kalani tip: choose pillowcases exactly the same size as your pillows. This ensures that the filling stays in place and that the pillow stays fluffy. A pillowcase that’s too large will give a floating effect, while one that’s too small could compress the pillow.<\/p>\n

How do you measure your mattress?<\/h3>\n

We sometimes forget that fitted sheets need to be perfectly adapted to the size of our mattress \u2013 and in particular its height!<\/p>\n

Things to consider:
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Width: 90, 140, 160, 180 or 200 cm depending on the type of bed.
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Length: 190, 200, sometimes 210 or 220 cm.
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Height (or thickness): between 30 and 40 cm depending on the mattress (standard, memory foam, spring, etc.).<\/p>\n

To measure it:
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Use a tape measure to measure the three dimensions: width, length and height.<\/p>\n

For example: your mattress is 160x200x30 cm, so choose a fitted sheet 160×200 cm with a 30 cm cover.<\/p>\n
